Internet backup power

Keep network equipment powered during a power outage.

Choose the networking equipment that must stay powered. Estimate battery capacity from watts and hours, then check the connections and the provider’s network too.

Your network

How long must the network stay powered?

Choose an example and adjust watts and hours. The battery target updates as you enter your load.

Target: 10,000 checked modelsThe model catalog is being populated source by source. Another 50 outage-device estimates are available through search only, while the 27 quick choices stay calm and compact.

Selecting a device replaces the wattage. Add the remaining network devices to the total yourself.

Connection path
DC is suitable only when voltage, polarity, connector and equipment requirements match exactly.
Edition market

Use the energy target to check exact Nigerian hardware. Local model admission is still open. Capacity does not guarantee uninterrupted operation.

Compare, then check the connection

Compare regional specifications with the battery target.

These models have documented regional specifications. A capacity calculation does not prove uninterrupted operation or connection compatibility. A dedicated router UPS may be more practical for a small load.

Nigerian model checks remain open. Use the calculated energy target, then verify DC voltage, polarity, connector and switchover behaviour on the exact equipment. Compare source-region technical references →

A planning estimate, not a hands-on test. AC and DC efficiency factors are assumptions. Idle consumption, temperature, ageing and low-load shutdown may shorten runtime. Check the exact connections and test the complete setup.

Which boxes need power?
Choose the right type

Three ways to back up the connection.

The largest battery is not automatically the best choice. Consider the equipment, required duration and connections together.

COMPACT

DC mini-UPS

For a compatible router or modem with known voltage, polarity and connector requirements.

  • Can reduce conversion loss
  • Quiet and compact
  • Voltage must match exactly
Example: a few hours of network backup
LONGER DURATION

Power station

More energy for longer outages, satellite networking and laptops, though it may be larger than a router alone needs.

  • Longer runtime and several outputs
  • Can support other devices
  • Test transfer time and idle shutdown
Example: longer or multi-device backup
Test before relying on it

Check the complete chain.

  1. 01

    Simulate an outage safely

Follow the equipment instructions to test transfer to backup and confirm that the modem, optical terminal, router and required mesh nodes stay online.

  2. 02

    Wait for idle-shutdown timers

Some stations switch a small load off only after an idle timer expires.

  3. 03

    Check with the provider

Ask whether the provider’s equipment outside your home has outage backup. Keep an alternative connection for important work.

  4. 04

    Label every lead

Record DC voltage, current, polarity and connector. A matching shape alone proves nothing.
