Measure consumption

From an estimate to a real measurement.

Choose your device connection, check the suitable type of meter and use measured values in your power plan.

These four source-model records explain measurement methods. The European 220–230 V and North American 120 V meters are not confirmed Nigerian recommendations. Check the exact model, input rating and circuit type; a plug adapter does not convert voltage.

Measurement path

What are you measuring?

Do not bridge circuit types with a travel adapter or improvised cable. Start with the electrical path itself.

220–230V · Type E/F socketsAC voltage, current, power and energy

Plug S Gen3

Measuring the running watts and watt-hours of European plug-in appliances over a realistic cycle.

Up to 12A / 2,500W resistive load
120 V · 60 Hz · Type A/B (North American execution)AC power and energy
Shelly

Plug US Gen4

Measuring North American plug-in appliances and logging consumption through a complete operating cycle.

Up to 15 A / 1,800 W (resistive loads only)

A clear measurement method

One appliance. One complete cycle. An honest margin.

  1. 01Use a meter matched to the exact socket, USB or battery path.
  2. 02Measure long enough to include normal switching, standby and use.
  3. 03Record average watts, total Wh and the highest observed starting peak separately.
  4. 04Enter the result in the runtime calculator and leave room for uncertainty.
