Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus v2 vs 1000 v2: same weight, different job

At IFA in September 2026, Jackery showed the Explorer 1000 Plus v2 and announced European sales from mid-October. The name sits very close to the existing Explorer 1000 v2, yet the two are built for different needs.

What Jackery announced

The European Explorer 1000 Plus v2 has a 1,024 Wh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and 1,800 W of continuous output. Jackery lists three 230 V outlets, two USB-C ports, one USB-A port and a 12 V socket, up to 400 W of solar input and a mains recharge of about 1.25 hours.

Jackery says the new model is 44% smaller and 26% lighter than its predecessor. That comparison is with the earlier 1000 Plus, not with the 1000 v2, which is where much of the confusion starts.

1000 v2 and 1000 Plus v2 side by side

On Jackery's own figures, the 1000 v2 holds 1,070 Wh, delivers 1,500 W and weighs about 10.8 kg. The 1000 Plus v2 holds 1,024 Wh, delivers 1,800 W and also weighs about 10.8 kg. Jackery rates the Plus v2 for 6,000 cycles to 70% capacity and the 1000 v2 for 4,000 cycles, and quotes a UPS switchover of 10 ms against 20 ms or less.

For a weekend with a laptop, lights and a cool box, the capacities differ by only about 4%, so with equal consumption and efficiency the runtimes would be close. Real runtime also depends on conversion losses and idle consumption, which the specifications do not cover. The difference shows up with heavier appliances in the 1,500 to 1,800 W range, or when you want to add capacity later. Jackery does not list battery expansion for the 1000 v2.

Explorer and HomePower are not the same product

On 27 August 2026 Jackery also introduced a HomePower 1000 Plus V2. It shares the 1,024 Wh capacity and 1,800 W output, but has four AC outlets and USB-C ports rated at 140 W and 30 W. It is a separate regional version, not simply another name for the European Explorer.

A review or spec sheet for one version does not automatically apply to the other. Check the exact model name, outlet type and voltage for your own market before comparing prices or accessories.

Who will notice the difference

The Plus v2 suits people who want to start with one unit and add battery packs for longer outages, or who occasionally run a heavier appliance of up to 1,800 W. If you mainly need a compact battery for trips, the 1000 v2 offers slightly more capacity for the same weight.

Plugging devices into the outlets is not the same as supplying a home's wiring. That needs suitable equipment installed by a qualified electrician.

Before choosing, add up what you want to run with our runtime calculator, or read how to choose a portable power station.

Jackery has announced European sales from mid-October 2026. Prices and availability in other markets are set locally.
