What Jackery announced
The HomePower 1000 Plus V2 has a 1,024 Wh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, 1,800 W of continuous output and a 3,600 W surge rating. Jackery lists four AC outlets, USB-C ports rated at 140 W and 30 W, an 18 W USB-A port and a 12 V car outlet, plus solar input of up to 400 W.
Jackery quoted a list price of $749 and said the unit was on sale from the day of the announcement.
1000 v2 and 1000 Plus v2 side by side
On Jackery's own figures, the Explorer 1000 v2 holds 1,070 Wh, delivers 1,500 W and weighs about 23.8 lb. The 1000 Plus V2 holds 1,024 Wh and delivers 1,800 W at a similar weight. Jackery rates the Plus V2 for 6,000 cycles to 70% capacity and the 1000 v2 for 4,000 cycles, and quotes a UPS switchover of 10 ms or less against 20 ms or less.
For a weekend with a laptop, lights and a cool box, the capacities differ by only about 4%, so with equal consumption and efficiency the runtimes would be close. Real runtime also depends on conversion losses and idle consumption, which the specifications do not cover. The difference shows up with heavier appliances in the 1,500 to 1,800 W range, or when you want to add capacity later. Jackery does not list battery expansion for the 1000 v2.
Explorer and HomePower are not the same product
At IFA in September 2026, Jackery showed the Explorer 1000 Plus v2 for Europe, with sales there announced from mid-October. It shares the 1,024 Wh capacity and 1,800 W output, but has three 230 V outlets and a different port layout. Jackery says that version is 44% smaller and 26% lighter than the earlier 1000 Plus.
A review or spec sheet for one regional version does not automatically apply to the other. Check the exact model name and outlet type before comparing prices or accessories.
Who will notice the difference
The 1000 Plus V2 suits people who want to start with one unit and add battery packs for longer outages, or who occasionally run a heavier appliance of up to 1,800 W. If you mainly need a compact battery for trips, the 1000 v2 offers slightly more capacity for the same weight.
Plugging devices into the outlets is not the same as supplying a home's wiring. That needs suitable equipment installed by a qualified electrician.
