Why does Anker's MagGo 2 Pro power bank have a fan?

Anker's MagGo 2 Pro (model A110R) is a 10,000 mAh magnetic power bank with a built-in fan, shown on Anker's sites from September 2026. A fan sounds odd in something pocket-sized, but it targets the main weakness of fast wireless charging: heat.

Heat is the real limit

When a phone gets warm, it slows charging to protect its battery, so a 25 W wireless charger often delivers less in practice. The Qi2 25W standard itself is not new: the Wireless Power Consortium announced it on 23 July 2025. What Anker adds is a way to manage the heat.

Anker describes a fan, two air channels and graphene layers, and says the design keeps temperatures below 36 °C (96.8 °F). That is a manufacturer claim; the test conditions are not published on the product page.

What the numbers mean

Anker lists 10,000 mAh, or 39.2 Wh, up to 25 W wireless and up to 45 W through USB-C in both directions. It quotes 80% recharge in 52 minutes with a 45 W charger and a suitable cable. The weight is about 220 g.

Wireless charging loses more energy than a cable, so you get fewer phone top-ups when charging wirelessly. Usable capacity is always lower than the cell rating, because voltage conversion and heat cost energy.

Noise and modes

According to Anker, the fan adjusts its speed to the temperature, and you can choose a Cool or a quieter Silent mode. Anker does not publish a noise level in decibels. Keep the air channels clear while charging.

Three checks before you buy

Phone: Anker's product page names only Apple devices, listing the iPhone 13 to 17 series except the iPhone 16e, so check the official compatibility list for your exact model. The full 25 W also depends on the phone supporting Qi2 25W. Case: if you use one, it must be MagSafe-compatible; a magnetic case helps the power bank attach but does not add charging support to a phone that lacks it. Cable: for 45 W recharging you need a USB-C cable rated for at least 45 W, sold separately.
