How the afternoon figures compare
BC Hydro reported about 80,000 customers without power at the 6 November storm peak and about 40,000 at 08:00 Pacific time on 7 November. New outages occurred while crews restored others, so the difference does not measure restorations. The utility named Prince George and nearby communities, Port Hardy, Courtenay and Qualicum among the hardest hit.
A separate 07:42 Central Interior snapshot on 7 November showed 116 active outages and 13,735 customers across all causes. BC Hydro listed 1,669 customers affected near Driftwood and Shelley roads in Prince George and 375 near Nazko Road in Quesnel. It listed separate wind or tree-contact outages in 100 Mile House and Williams Lake, with dated Central Interior rows starting on 6 November.

School District 72 reported two schools, Georgia Park Elementary and Southgate Middle School, without power at 08:21 that day; schools stayed open.
BC Hydro warned on 7 November that more storms could bring new outages and gave no shared restoration time. For backup planning, see backup essentials and the runtime calculator.
